How To Grow Your LinkedIn Network

We spoke with Charlie Saffro, a LinkedIn influencer, in episode #2. She has reached the limit of connections that LinkedIn allows users to have! If anyone wants to connect with her now, all they can do is follow her. But how did she grow her network to the literal limit?

Charlie said you can do a couple of things to grow your network. The first one is to have a network to begin with. If you are new to LinkedIn, it’s easy to get started: connect with your colleagues, friends, neighbours, etc. As you connect with people, LinkedIn will offer suggestions of other people you may know, making it easier to find more people.

The second thing is to engage with your connections. Go through your feed and share your opinions, comment on posts, share other people’s content, etc. Charlie said that sometimes you will get more exposure by commenting on someone’s post than if you had shared that post yourself!

Lastly, share your content and put yourself out there. Out of millions of LinkedIn profiles, Charlie shared that only 2% of the profiles are creating content, so it is certainly a huge untapped market!
