You might have heard that recruiters only look at the first page of a resumé, so you should try to avoid having a resumé that is longer than one page. But is this true? We asked Pascal, a recruiter at HiHello, for his thoughts about this in episode #4.

As it turns out, this is a myth. Especially if you have a lengthy career and have held multiple roles, it is okay if your resumé is three or even four pages long! Pascal doesn’t recommend going any longer than that, but he says it is acceptable for lengthy careers. For entry-level roles or junior folks, one to two pages is completely fine.

It all comes down to relevance. If you have a two-page long resumé, make sure that everything you are showing recruiters is relevant to the role for which you are applying. Pascal recommends comparing the job description with your resumé and seeing what keywords, skills, or experiences match.

Pascal also recommends three to five bullet points per work experience. Ideally, he would like to see the same number of bullet points per experience, with the exception of your current role, where you can certainly include more details.
